Current Hispanic Baroque Research:


Patrick Mahon is curating an exhibition of Canadian contemporary art. The proposed exhibition would involve a large-scale display which will be housed at the ArtLab (UWO); the McIntosh Gallery (UWO); and Museum London. The exhibition will tour beyond London, in Canada and/or abroad. A catalogue, with several essays, including one by the curator, will be published.

Upcoming exhibitions include:"Cold Storage" @ Render (Waterloo University Art Gallery), Nov. - Dec. 2007; and "Drawing Water", Kamloops Art Gallery in 2008.



General Research Interests:


Patrick Mahon's work as an artist includes print-based projects that engage with historical and contemporary aspects of 'print culture' and involves responding to gallery and museum collections through artistic and curatorial gestures. Mahon also works as a writer and curator, focusing on issues relating to print culture, post-colonialism, and aesthetics. The SSHRC Research/Creation collaboration, "Art and Cold Cash" was launched at MOCCA in Toronto, Canada, and at the Greater Toronto Airport in 2006-07. Other A&CC exhibition venues include the Winnipeg Art Gallery in 2009. Patrick Mahon was in residence for three months at the International Studio and Curatorial Program in New York in 2007.
