Current Hispanic Baroque Research:


Working with Professor Beatriz de Alba-Koch on the recuperation of late Baroque literary manuscripts from New Spain. We are transcribing and editing the texts for publication.

General Research Interests:


The nature of Neobaroque literary and artistic creation in the Americas, vis-à-vis Spanish and French ideological exports to that continent during the Baroque Age; Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz; Severo Sarduy's theories of the Baroque; Frida Khalo's Baroque iconography; García Lorca's contribution to the return of the Baroque
